Radical Textiles – AGSA meets Parliament House
Civics x Visual Arts – unique learning around linking Parliament and AGSA, textiles and democracy,
With the State Government’s recent investment in Civics and Citizenship education, AGSA and the Parliament’s Education Office have teamed up to deliver a half day workshop focused on this area of the Australian Curriculum.
Using the exhibition Radical Textiles and works of art within the theme of resistance, we will demonstrate how you can use works of art to address this priority in your classrooms, encouraging students to be actively engaged citizens.
- 9am-10.30am – Learn how to re-enact the 1894 Adult Suffrage Bill with your class – hosted at Parliament House
- 10.30am-11am – Walk to AGSA – self supplied morning tea break
- 11am-12pm – Civics and Citizenship tour at AGSA
Highly recommended for teachers of Years 6 & 7 and Years 9 & 10.
