The maximum number of student attendees on one tour is two classes (approx. 50-60 students). If you need more than two classes to attend, you must make multiple bookings.
We recommend having at least three date and time options in mind.
Non-sitting day start times are: 9.30am, 10.15am, 11.30am, 12.15pm, 1.00pm, 2.30pm, 3.15pm. Tours run for 60-90 minutes.
Sitting day start times are: 10.00am, 1.00pm. Tours run for 60 minutes.
Aim to request tours at least one month before your intended visit date to avoid disappointment. Parliament House is heavily booked.
2026 NOTICE: 2026 is an election year, which impacts school tours. In the post election transition window, between 30 March 2026-3 July 2026, we invite schools to lodge visit requests directly through our office.
Please view the sitting calendar as a reference while you make your booking. View the difference between sitting days and non-sitting days here.
Note: If you are used to contacting the office of your MP directly for bookings, please be assured that we will offer MPs the opportunity to join the tours. We are currently processing and redirecting all bookings, due to the 20+ new Members and new electoral office staff who will be learning how to book and host tours for the first time. We hope to return to regular processes by term 3.
