Constitution Day

The day Australia’s Constitution became law.

Constitution Day is celebrated on 9 July each year. 

This date is significant because it marks the date the Australian Constitution became law on 9 July 1900 – Her Majesty Queen Victoria signed the Royal Commission of Assent and in doing so, brought into existence the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act.
