The maximum number of student attendees on one tour is two classes. If you need more than two classes to attend, you must make multiple bookings.

We recommend having at least three date and time options in mind.  Start times are: 9.30am, 10.15am, 11.30am, 12.15pm, 1.00pm, 2.30pm, 3.15pm.

2026 NOTICE: 2026 is an election year, which will have an impact on school tours. Tours will still be available, but we will not have a sitting calendar until April. The sitting calendar determines how many tours we can host on certain days.

Use the guide below to support you with making tour bookings in 2026.

Visits Between 27 January – 20 March 2026

  1. Contact the office of the local MP whose electorate covers your school, or alternatively, a Member of the Legislative Council.

To find your local MP and their office contact details:
    a) Use the Electoral Commission SA interactive boundaries map to determine your school’s electorate via address.
    b) Search for the electorate and corresponding member on our member search page.

You can view a list of Legislative Council Members and contact details here.

  2. Request the type of program that suits your class.

Non-sitting day tours allow your group to explore the building, sit in Members’ seats, and interact more with the building space.
Sitting day tours allow your groups to watch Parliament in action, but can only be conducted from the public viewing galleries in limited time slots.

  3. Work with the office to plan your date and time.

Visits Between 23 March – 10 April 2026

We do not know who local MPs will be for the last weeks of term 1.

Email [email protected] to request bookings.

Visits in Terms 2, 3 and 4 2026

We do not have a sitting calendar until after the election, likely April. We do not yet know when the building will be available for school access in terms 2, 3 and 4. We also will not know who local MPs will be until after the election. We recommend waiting until the April school holidays then approaching the local MP you have after the election. If your school is travelling significant distance to attend Parliament and you need to arrange travel before the end of term 1, please contact [email protected] to discuss options for waitlisting.
