We have several options to support regional schools with parliamentary education:
- Book a digital program
- Regional visits
- Member visits
- Civics in the City excursion funding
- Equipment loans
Regional Visits
Our staff travel to regional areas and facilitate incursion programs in schools. We conduct one regional trip per term. The program is drafted and conducted by a registered teacher and is suited to students in years 4-12 (11-12 SACE Politics/Legal Studies) to align with the Australian Curriculum and the SACE. We are joined by the local MP for the area if/when possible.
The regional program involves:
- Learning about the levels of government and the separation of powers
- Coverage of elections and how our Members of Parliament end up in their roles
- Learning about the structure and functions of the Parliament of South Australia
- A role play of how to make/change laws – including props and supplies to recreate the Parliamentary Chambers
- Ideas of how to get involved and have your say
Regional trips rotate locations so that in a 4 year cycle we visit all areas in the state.
In 2025 we will be visiting:
- Term 1 – Upper Eyre Peninsula
- Term 3 – Far North (Coober Pedy, Oodnadatta, APY Schools)
- Term 3 – Whyalla
- Term 4 – Hammond Electorate
Please note: if we receive a large number of EOIs we may not be able to accommodate every request at first instance, but will consider alternative programs or additional dates.
This is the intended future schedule for regional visits. Bookings will not open until the calendar year. This schedule is subject to change.

- Use the Electoral Commission SA interactive boundaries map to determine your school’s electorate via address.
- Search for the electorate and corresponding member on our member search page.
