If you are out of public transport access to Parliament House, we can offer a free video linked incursion for your class. Our digital programs suit students in years 5-12.

The incursion program is curriculum linked and can be customised to the needs of your group.

If you would like specific content covered or themes explored, please specify customisations in the request form or by emailing us at [email protected]

Program Options

One of our education office staff will connect with your classroom via MS Teams and run an online workshop. You have several choices for the workshop:

Option A: Passage of a Bill – 1 hour:
The Passage of a Bill program follows an idea for change (of the students’ choice) through its process to become a law. Students will be encouraged to engage with both sides of a debate and consider complex issues and their broader impact on communities. Recommended for: year 6, year 8, SACE.

Option B: Representation – 1 hour:
The Representation program highlights how an individual and their community is represented, how electorates are formed, why it can be difficult to be a representative, and why it is integral to communicate with our representatives.  Recommended for: years 5-10, SACE.

Option C: Merged Passage of a Bill & Representation  – 1.5 hours:
The merged program offers a mixture of options A and B, covering representation concepts, and includes a debate to pass a law. Recommended for years 6-10, SACE.
