We run regular programs for SA public sector employees, with up to 30 attendees from mixed Departments in a session.
During our public sector program, we cover:
- The basics of the Australian legal system (levels of government and their Constitutional/legislative sources)
- The separation of powers (highlighting the links between the Parliament and the Executive)
- The relationship between the Parliament and the various SA Government Departments
- The structures of both Houses of Parliament
- The passage of a bill, and delegated legislation
- Estimates
- Questions with/without notice
- Parliamentary committees
The key focus is scrutiny of the public sector and the relationship between the legislature and the executive.
