Then put the concept wheel into action with practical demonstrations and activities with Natalie Badcock\, Manager of Education programs at the Parliament of South Australia. \nFinally\, head to the Art Gallery of South Australia where Education Manager\, Kylie Neagle\, explores civics concepts within the Gallery’s permanent collection\, and how to blend visual arts with civics and citizenship. \nLunch and morning tea provided.

DESCRIPTION:Join Her Excellency\, the Honourable Frances Adamson AC\, Governor of South Australia\, at Government House\, where she will discuss one of her key priorities: Civics and Citizenship in schools. \nTeachers will then preview the Government House School Tour experience. \nAfterwards\, cross over to Parliament House for morning tea and information about the Governor’s Civics Awards for Schools program. \nFinish with a practical workshop of teaching tips for Civics & Citizenship and an optional walkthrough of Parliament House. \nPlaces are limited. \nThe day is aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers Framework and attending teachers receive a certificate of participation.

DESCRIPTION:A special workshop for the HaSS Association Australia. \nThis workshop\, conducted by Paula Hensing from the Electoral Commission of South Australia and Natalie Badcock from Parliament House\, will focus on the place of Civics and Electoral Education in HaSS. \nPractical activities will be conducted and resources provided by Paula to be used in the HaSS classroom.   \nNatalie will explore the  media literacy involved leading up to an election. \nFollowing the workshop\, Natalie will provide attendees with the opportunity to be involved in a guided tour of Parliament House. \nHAA Member cost is $20 for teachers and $10 for pre-service students.
