SUMMARY:SA Schools Constitutional Convention 2026
DESCRIPTION:The SA Schools Constitutional Convention has been running since 1995. It is an initiative between the Department for Education and the Parliament of SA. It is supported by the Australian Government. \nStudents have the opportunity to: \n\nlearn and share their views about Australia and its Constitution;\nfind out how the Constitution shapes our democracy; and\nlearn how the Constitution promotes understanding of our democratic heritage and traditions.\n\n2026 Event Details\nTheme: Should there be a new preamble to the Constitution? \nFriday\, 18 September 2026\n8.30am to 3.30pm\nParliament House\nNorth Terrace\, Adelaide. \nIn 2026 the program includes: \n\nPresentations by expert speakers\nA Q&A panel with Members of Parliament\nGroup workshops\nA debate and mock referendum in the House of Assembly Chamber.\n\nParliament House provides a unique venue for this learning experience with an optional tour on offer for students. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
