DESCRIPTION:As part of our regional education program\, the Community Education Office and the Electoral Commission of South Australia are conducting day trips to schools in the Schubert electoral district over 23-27 June 2025. \nSchubert schools can express their interest in a program. \nRegional Program EOI \nThe program runs for approximately 2 hours. \nECSA’s 45-60 minute section involves: \n\nAdministering elections: the role of ECSA\, stages in an election\nParticipating in democracy: enrolling to vote\, being informed and voting responsibly\nExploring the features of Australian elections: secret ballot\, compulsory voting\, preferential voting\nA mock election\nHow government is formed\n\nParliament’s 45-60 minute section involves: \n\nLearning about the levels of government\nLearning about the structure and functions of the Parliament of South Australia\nA role play of how to make/change laws – including props and supplies to recreate the Parliamentary Chambers\nIdeas of how to get involved and have a say
